I’ve used this consistently for over eight months. The improvements I’ve seen — reduced redness, better texture, faster fading of post-acne marks — came gradually enough that I almost didn’t notice until I compared photos from month one and month four and the difference was obvious.

This is the cleanser I recommend in my Korean skincare routine for beginners because the low pH formula is genuinely good for maintaining your acid mantle — the protective film that sits over your skin barrier.
The gel texture lathers slightly but not dramatically. It rinses clean without that squeaky tight feeling that indicates your cleanser is stripping too much. For most oily and combination skin types this is a very good morning cleanser.
The fine print: it contains BHA (betaine salicylate) and tea tree oil. For oily or acne-prone skin that’s a feature. For dry or sensitive skin that might be too active for a morning cleanser. This is the COSRX product I have the most complicated relationship with.
The formula uses betaine salicylate as the BHA component and willow bark water as a natural AHA source. On paper it sounds like an excellent gentle exfoliating toner.
In practice — I broke out significantly for about ten days after introducing it. Which I eventually worked out was a combination of using it too frequently (every night, when I should have started every other night) and layering it with too many other active products simultaneously.
When I reintroduced it properly — twice a week maximum, on nights when I wasn’t using anything else active — it worked well. Texture improvement, slightly clearer pores, better overall clarity within about six weeks.
But I’d classify this as an intermediate product, not a beginner one. The verdict: Solid everyday moisturizer for oily skin.
This is one of those products that doesn’t generate much excitement but just quietly works.
The texture is lightweight — more lotion than cream — and it absorbs fast without any greasy residue. For oily skin types who struggle to find a moisturizer that hydrates without making them look like they’ve applied cooking oil to their face, this is genuinely one of the better options at its price point.

COSRX Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule
The verdict: Underrated — genuinely impressive for acne-prone skin.
Propolis doesn’t get the same attention as snail mucin but the COSRX propolis ampoule deserves significantly more credit than it receives.

The verdict: One of the best spot treatments available at any price.
These aren’t glamorous. They’re small hydrocolloid stickers you put on active pimples overnight. And they are one of the most effective single-use skincare products I’ve come across.
Hydrocolloid patches work by creating a moist environment over a wound that accelerates healing and draws out fluid from the blemish simultaneously. By morning a whitehead that would have taken five to seven days to heal on its own is visibly flattened and often nearly gone.

The verdict: Good but optional — especially for younger skin.
This is the COSRX product I feel most neutral about. It’s a well-formulated eye cream that combines snail mucin with peptides for hydration and mild anti-aging support around the eye area.
Does it work? Yes, modestly. The eye area felt more hydrated and the texture around my outer corners improved slightly over several weeks of consistent use. But the honest reality is that for anyone under thirty-five the improvements are subtle enough that you might not notice without careful comparison photos.
For anyone in their late thirties or beyond where fine lines and dehydration around the eyes are a genuine concern — the formula is good and the price is reasonable compared to most eye creams making similar claims.
If budget is a concern, skipping this and using a small amount of your regular moisturizer gently patted around the eye area achieves very similar results for most people under forty.

COSRX Products by Skin Type — Where to Start
If you have oily or acne-prone skin: Start with the Low pH Cleanser and Snail Mucin Essence. Add the Propolis Ampoule if breakouts are frequent. Keep the Pimple Patches in your bathroom permanently.
If you have dry or dehydrated skin: Start with the Snail Mucin Essence and follow with the Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream. Skip the Low pH Cleanser and use something gentler. Avoid the exfoliating toner initially.

Mistakes to Avoid With COSRX Products
Buying too many at once. COSRX is affordable enough that it’s tempting to order six products in one go. Don’t. Add one product at a time and wait two weeks before introducing the next. If something causes a reaction you need to be able to identify which product is responsible.
Expecting results in five days. Snail mucin and niacinamide work on cellular processes that take four to eight weeks to produce visible results. Most people who declare a product “didn’t work” gave it two weeks. The results are in weeks six through twelve.
