About Blogenxia

My first experience with Korean skincare was embarrassing.

I had spent about forty minutes in a beauty store staring at a shelf of products I didn’t understand, holding a toner that cost more than my dinner, trying to figure out if my skin was “normal,” “combination,” or something in between. A store assistant came over, asked me two questions, handed me three products, and I bought all of them without fully understanding what any of them did.

Two of those products were genuinely good. One of them made my face break out for two weeks.

That experience — the overwhelming shelf, the confusing ingredient lists, the trial and error that costs both money and skin — is exactly why I started Blogenxia.

Who I Am

My name is Ghulam Mujtaba. I’m not a dermatologist, not a beauty influencer, and not someone who gets sent free products in exchange for a positive review. I’m someone who got obsessed with Korean skincare after a frustrating few years of using Western products that either did nothing or did too much — stripping cleansers, heavy moisturizers, spot treatments that dried everything out including the surrounding skin.

I started reading about K-beauty the way some people read about cars or cameras — deep dives into ingredient science, brand comparisons, what actually works versus what just sounds good in marketing copy, I tested products on my own skin over months, not days. I made a lot of mistakes, fixed them, and kept notes on all of it.

Blogenxia is where those notes went.

What This Blog Is About

Every article on this site starts from a real question — one I had myself, or one that came up repeatedly when talking to friends who were just starting out with Korean skincare.

I write honest product reviews based on actual long-term use. Not one-week impressions. Not paraphrased product descriptions dressed up as opinions. Real results from real testing — including the times things didn’t work and why.

I also write beginner guides because the learning curve in Korean skincare is steeper than it needs to be. You don’t need ten steps to have good skin. You need the right four steps, the right products for your skin type, and enough patience to let the routine actually work. That’s what I try to help people figure out.

Everything I recommend is available on Amazon because I know that international shipping times and complicated import processes are barriers that make people give up before they’ve even started. Accessibility matters.

Why You Can Trust What I Write

I have no brand deals. No sponsored content. No arrangements where companies pay me to say nice things about their products.

When I recommend something — like the COSRX Snail Mucin Essence or the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask — it’s because I tested it on my own skin for weeks and it genuinely worked. When something disappointed me, I write that too. The COSRX exfoliating toner broke me out for ten days when I introduced it wrong. I included that in my review because it’s information you actually need before buying.

Some links on this site are Amazon affiliate links. That means if you buy something through my link, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how I keep the blog running. It does not affect which products I recommend or what I say about them — I’d rather lose a commission than send someone toward a product that doesn’t work for their skin.

Who This Blog Is For

If you are new to Korean skincare and have no idea where to start — this blog is for you. Start with the beginner’s routine guide and go from there.

If you have a specific skin concern — acne, sensitivity, dark spots, oily skin, aging — there’s a guide for each one, If you want to understand what ingredients actually do rather than just following instructions blindly, the Korean skincare ingredients explained article covers all the important ones in plain language.

If you’re somewhere in the middle — already using Korean skincare but not sure if your routine is working as well as it should — the product reviews and brand comparisons are a good place to dig in.
